 CLAIRE FINEING
Claire, or ‘Crazy Claire’
as she is affectionately
known, has been St
Andrew’s very own
female equivalent of
Mr Tumble who is an
all-round entertaining
genius who appears
on just about everyTV
programme on CBBC.
There is nothing he can’t
do. A kind of Bruce Forsythe meets Norman Wisdom. Claire is the female equivalent.
When Claire reads stories to children, the stories come alive and they love it.They are also mesmerised by Claire’s expressive and enthusiastic singing.
The parents have loved her warm and friendly nature too, especially her ability to remember key details about people.
Just occasionally, her memory would slip though. For instance, she once lost her new reading glasses and had to come to work in her prescription sunglasses. She had forgotten they were on and kept complaining that she couldn’t see what she was doing.
Claire is definitely a people person, for all age groups.
A particular memory from one colleague is watching the children play the ‘wake up’ game with Miss Fineing. She would pretend to have fallen asleep in her chair and loved encouraging all the children to say “wake up!” which would get louder and louder as it went on!
Claire has endless energy, has contributed much to St Andrew’s and has been a great team player. Claire you will be missed!
CHARMEYNE McCOLLIN
Charmeyne McCollin was with us for a year. Charmeyne loves her sport and has been an international ultimate Frisbee player of course, so being part of a team comes naturally and Charmeyne has been the ultimate team player this
year – switching positions to go wherever is needed: French, Maths, English, Science, PSHE, supporting the boarders during
the Easter holidays.
She brilliantly supported the pupils with their learning,
supported colleagues educationally and emotionally. Thank you for all you have done this year, stepping in at
the last minute and coping so well with everything that was thrown at you. We wish you, John and the children well as you seek a new adventure in Malaysia. Best wishes and good luck.
