The United Arab Emirates dirham is the common currency of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al Khaima, Sharjah and Umm al Qaiwain.
The import and export of local and foreign currencies and monetary instruments in amounts of or over AED100,000 or equivalent must be declared using form 7/2000/9. Amounts carried by minors are added to that of their parants or guardians.
