attend so they can learn and grow their practices. I want them to make the best use of their time so often I tell them we can discuss later so they can either get back to the lectures and/or visit with other vendors in the limited time they have.”—Paul Faust, Vice President of Ring Boost.
Of course, this kind of wisdom
and insight comes after years of participating in the conferences,
but our conference veterans have been more than happy to give some tips to newcomers to help them make the most of their time at MTMP.
Jason Sweet from Robson Forensics offered this succinct advice to new vendors: “Prepare and make a plan. The conference is large and if you want to maximize your efforts getting organized and seeking the sessions and client you want to meet is key. With that said, if you make plans, allow flexibility. This is Vegas and people do get distracted.”
Jason added that it’s also important
to wear comfortable shoes, something that everyone who has attended the conference would agree with!
When it comes to exhibiting, there really is no “silver bullet”. But if you make a plan, follow up with the people you meet, and have a friendly and approachable staff, you should be able to capitalize on the conference.

vendors certainly attract the eyes of anyone who walks into the room.
One of those vendors is Filevine. Filevine offers case management software to help attorneys keep track
of records and access them from anywhere. As Brooke Shepard, the Chief
of Staff for Filevine explains,
“Filevine is all about making connections. Our case management software helps firms connect better
to their clients, and collaborate better internally. And MTMP is our best moment for building our own personal connections with the best minds
in legal.”
Shepard explained that Filevine’s attendance at the conference is not just about making a sale, its about getting vital feedback from leaders in the legal profession: “We make
a promise to Filevine users: we will constantly improve and continue to bring new first-to-market features for our users. We try to reflect that commitment at MTMP by bringing new visual displays for attendees. We also use this time not just to pitch a product but to really listen
to attendees. We want to know every new development on mass torts.
We want to know every opportunity and challenge the field faces. And our knowledge shows in the experience we’re able to give our users.”
The relaxed and fun atmosphere during the cocktail receptions is also something that companies like Filevine have found to be incredibly beneficial to their businesses, as the pressure comes off a bit and you can really
get to know people a little better.
There are dozens of businesses that will be present in and around the exhibit hall for the spring seminar,
so make sure to schedule some time to visit with them. After all, they are there to help your law practice run smoother and become more efficient.

identifying information was posted on a public site by the marketing firm Exactis that impacted 110 million businesses and 230 million consumers. An Exactis data breach class action lawsuit was filed
soon after.
5. Marriott Data Breach. Over 500 million people who stayed at hotels like Marriott properties had their passport numbers, birth dates, travel info, and credit card numbers shared in a Starwood data breach that broke in September, but could have begun in 2014. A Marriott data breach class action lawsuit is currently pending.
PROTECTING YOUR INFO FROM A POSSIBLE DATA BREACH
If you use a computer, credit card, or debit card, there’s no way to completely protect yourself from a data breach. However, a few steps can help you guard against the risks of having your personal details stolen,
sold, or used by a hacker.
Take your information security into your hands with these tips:
Create complicated passwords, change them often, and use different passwords for each of your different accounts.
Use a credit card for shopping, since the risk of fraudulent charges is lower. Some debit card companies are even charging fees to consumers after a hack, according to news reports.
Respond to any notices you receive about a data breach immediately to determine when it happened, what was compromised, and what to do next.
Set up account alerts so that you know as soon as possible if your details have been leaked or breached.
