A letter to the Editor Dear Caren, I am a mother of three children and an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) II in a school-age program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I have been a faithful reader of enLIGHTENing for many years. The Coronavirus has been attacked our county for almost a year, and it is continuing. There is a big concern about children's physical and psychological well-being towards social distance. It has bothered our parents and ECEs for an extended period when planning activities, especially for the upcoming summer season. We used to have less stress in the summer, but this year is different, the COVID-19. enLIGHTENing, as one of the leading Early Childhood Education magazines in Manitoba, provides a bunch of sparkling ideas for us to borrow and support our work with informative resources. On behalf of our child learning centre, I urge for strategies to solve our current concern. As for parents, practical advice for selecting a summer school program will help them reduce parenting stress. Therefore, I sincerely send you a request to draw your attention, as I could not find enough supportive articles in your recent publications. Many thanks! Julie M.
