sign the following contracts for the 2017 Brown County Fair: T&K Rentals LLC @ $1,600.00 (tent rent- al); Heather Gessner @ $600.00, JaCee Engelhart @ $200 (photographers); Amanda Taylor @ $250.00 (van driver); Avenger Joe @ $3,500.00, Bad Hamster @ $3,400.00 (entertainment); Piles of Smiles @ lodging (face painting); Aberdeen Softball @ $500.00 (gate B control); 4-H Leaders Assn @ $5,350.00 (4-H premiums); Jenna Malsam, Jamie Simon, Ashley Seeklander, Cathy Jorgenson, Bill Daschel, Carol Green, Tammy Weiszhaar, Lisa Harry, Ann Thorson, Phyllis Donat, Caitlyn Fluke, Ashley Farrand, Car- rie Hansen, Sue Gerdes, Kathy Sperry @ $40.00, Mary Campbell @ $100.00, Stan Gonsoir @ $150.00 (judges). ELECTION EQUIPMENT PURCHASE: Moved by Sutton, seconded by Fischbach to authorize the purchase of one (1) Model DS850 High Speed Digital Image Scanner (optical scan ballot counter) @$106,400.00 and twelve (12) ExpressVote Ballot Making Device Terminals (replace AutoMARKs) @ $39,360.00 through the State of SD statewide voting system price list, submitted by Election Systems & Software; and further to fund purchase with Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Funds held for Brown County by the SD Secretary of State. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.
EM STATE & LOCAL AGREEMENT: Moved by Hansen, seconded by Sutton to approve and authorize the Chair to sign Emergency Management State and Local Agreement, with SD OEM providing grant funding in amount of $58,272.12 to be used for salary and administrative costs related to the operation of the Brown County Emergency Management during FFY 2017 (October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017). All members present voting aye. Motion carried.
MULTI-USE TASK FORCE: Mike Bockorny, Aberdeen Development Corp and Zach Anderson presented an update on the Community Survey recently conducted by the Multi-Use Task Force; and the plan for the Task Force to meet jointly with the Aberdeen City Council and County Commission later this fall.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: Moved by Hansen, seconded by Sutton to go into executive session to consult with legal counsel on a contractual matter, per SDCL 1-25-2(3) with Larry Lovrien, Gary Vetter, Judy Dosch and Paul Sivertsen in attendance. All members present voting aye. Motion carried. The Chair declared the executive session closed, with no action taken as a result of the discussion.
PET INSURANCE: Moved by Sutton, seconded by Fjeldheim to allow the current insurance carrier to present the opportunity for employees to purchase pet insurance with the employee paid premium as a payroll deduction. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Sutton, seconded by Fischbach to adjourn the Brown County Commission at 9:45 a.m. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.
