Early Childhood Youth & Family Support Worker
Hi! I I was thrilled to to to come back to to to work in in in September 2019 from being away for almost a a a a a a a a a a a a year on on maternity leave I’m even more excited to to to to have a a a a a a a a a a a a a a new staff person join us us Nicole Nicole Musey! Nicole Nicole has brought positive energy to to help our work and the community The focus for for for the the the Early Childhood and and and and Family Services program for for for this year is is to to try and and and and have the the the community get get get together for for for for D/HH children and and and and and parents by expanding awareness regarding ASL Not forgotten we we we want to to to to make sure that the the Youth and and and Seniors also get get get an an an an an opportunity to to to to be be involved With this we we we we have been hosting Little Buttons for for age 0-4 we we we we hosted a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Costume party Christmas gathering and and and continue welcoming and and and enjoying our Seniors and and and their expertise There has been so much “video editing” here here at at SDHHS! We We worked with CCCC Preschool creating fun short videos videos in in in in in in in in different themes such as as as Halloween and and Christmas We We are continuing to to to work work on on creating videos videos of of storybooks in in in in in in in ASL to to to show and and teach others in in in in in in in the the the the D/HH community across the the the the province of of Saskatchewan There’s always some new project happening in in in in in my office and and many families to to work with I I look forward to to to seeing our our community grow I I really appreciate you you you all all supporting us us sharing ideas and and helping us us when we we need you you you We will be attempting to to host an an an event event once a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a month so keep your eyes open watching SDHHS’ website Facebook and Instagram for our next events!

Hello everyone! It has been my pleasure working working here at SDHHS in in in in in in the Sign Support Professional
position I I I I started working working in in in in in in in in last September 2019! I I I I am profoundly Deaf and originally from from Prince George BC I I I recently graduated from from Gallaudet University with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a B B A in in in in in in in in in Elementary Education in in in in in in in in in May 2019 and plan to continue my schooling in in in the future It has has always been my dream to to to work with young Deaf and Hard of Hearing children This position has has given me the the opportunities to to to to to do that that which I I I I am am am very thankful for for However I I I I want to to to to to acknowledge that that the the the the the quality life for for Deaf/ Deaf/ HH HH people people in in in Saskatchewan have a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a lot of of way to to to to to to go I I I am am determined to to to to to to bring the the the the community together to to to fl the the the the next generation of of young Deaf/ Deaf/ HH HH people people Saskatchewan is is truly one of the gem provinces! I'm also proud that my Ukrainian heritage is is rooted here too! I I am am looking forward to to to meeting more new people and continuing to to to see familiar faces!
