1974 Biography 2018
I don’t know if I had a nickname but I am sure that I was better known as the Med student who was almost in a perpetual state of procreation. In Pre-Med I married my devoted husband Donovan who had recently graduated from Natural Sciences. After my 2ndMB exams I spent a glorious holiday with him at Leeds University where he was doing his postgrad studies. Well .... I returned to my 1st Clinical year in an altered state and my 1st born was a wonderful gift on Christmas day 1971 (She belongs to the Med Class of “96). So.... fast forward a few months and there I was again ...Final year another precious gift for us (and later to the Nursing Fraternity). Finally, in Internship ... a son (now a happy Cornell graduate who very early made sure that I knew that he hated the sight of blood and the smell of hospitals). By the way, graduating with my class was also an amazing achievement. Who says us girls can’t do it all?
After Internship and a year of KPH Casualty, I took over the huge Practice of an old GP. I also operated a popular health club, “Weight Watchers” and got into preventive health doing weight management, nutrition and fitness as well. I enjoyed being an active member of the Jamaica Amateur Body Building & Fitness Association (JABBFA) from which I received many awards over the years. I also had a lot of fun after qualifying as an International Judge with the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) traveling abroad to judge competitions.
Since my retirement tin 2009, I have been indulging my passion for travel and so far in addition to short cruises I have done three World Voyages visiting more than 100 countries on all seven continents.
