    Memories
Memory 1
UWI was an experience of a lifetime. Imagine leaving St Lucia and arriving in Jamaica not knowing anybody and feeling very homesick. But I met “my little sister”, Myrtle Peterkin from Guyana in Secole Hall and that make a lot of a difference in easing the pain of parting from my home land. Extracurricular activities, like horseback riding, Caving club, Judo, table tennis
( especially after formal dinner in Secole) played a major role in my life on campus.
Memory 2
B=Clinical Medicine was rewarding and exciting. The lecturers that stood out as Masters in their professions were Rolf Richards, Orin Barrow, Chutcan to name a few. We as students found every opportunity to attend their ward rounds. Of course there were times when we couldn’t help but play truant from classes to play chess or darts.
Memory 3
One of the best parts of life on Campus was during the summer vacation when all the other Faculties closed and the medical students were the only ones roaming the vast expanse of campus. One had to find food wherever there was and the Nurses dining room became a meeting place, whether you had a meal ticket or not. There was always a bit of irritation when the solitude was lost when the hordes of students returned.
