    Memories
Memory 1
As a freshman in Taylor Hall, I was fortunate to occupy Room A 35 and had the only key that would open its door thereby denying anyone from removing my bed during freshman’s week as was the custom.
Memory 2
Being chosen as someone (presumably of strength) to help lift a cannon from an estate in the country side to elevate Taylor Hall’s stature as the Supreme Hall of Residence. After a rather long drive in the back of a Land Rover with no padded seats, we returned to Campus with sore butts and empty-handed – couldn’t budge the cannon an inch, far less lift it.
Memory 3
Serving at formal dinners in hall and being “cussed” by diners who wanted chicken or fish or whatever other meat there was at the time. The fact that I had limited amounts on the trolley did not seem to matter to the occupants of the table. The bonus was that I had the dish of my choice and received a stipend to boot.
Life Highlights
v It has been an honour and privilege to live and work in my adopted country – Barbados, and to be able to give back to the community – something that has given me much joy, and for which I am most grateful.
