Biography
I have lived in Glasgow, Scotland, since 1979 and enjoy residing here as I am able to experience a wide variety of the cultural activities that I enjoy – foreign films, theatre, music and dance from many different genres. Glasgow is also ideally located for easy access to wonderful Scottish countryside.
Since retiring from my job as a Consultant Haematologist I have had more time to travel extensively abroad and have also learned to play Contract Bridge which has become something of a passion.
In the last 5 years I have channelled my love of Bridge into raising thousands of £s for a variety of Charities. I am a member of Soroptimist International (S.I.), a voluntary women’s organisation with about 80,000 members in 122 countries around the world. The United Kingdom, the Caribbean, India and some African countries are all members of the same S.I. Federation, so I meet Soroptimists from Barbados, Trinidad and other Caribbean islands at Federation meetings. Soroptimist International works to improve the lives of women and girls, locally, nationally and internationally. I am currently the President of my local Soroptimist Club.
What little time I have out with these activities is spent socialising with the wide circle of friends that I have made in Glasgow over the years.
