RICKHI, Budri
1974 Biography 2018
Budri is an academic psychiatrist, University of Calgary, and an international expert in the field of Integrative Health. He founded and holds the Research Chair position at CINIM, a charitable institute which develops programs to help individuals cope with everyday challenges and improve their quality of life. These programs are evidence-based, innovative and have won many national awards. He was co-awarded the Dr. Rogers Prize (2009), the world`s largest award for his outstanding contributions in integrative medicine. He has advised Health Canada and the WHO on Integrative Medicine. He is the first Canadian member to sit on the Steering Committee of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health (72 academic institutions in North America). He has also published on the science of mind-body therapies through working with multi-disciplinary scientists eg. Astrophysicists, quantum physicists. He is involved in significant charitable projects internationally, focused on rural, poor third-world countries. He is married with two adult sons and currently lives in Calgary, Canada.
Some of his awards include: The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta`s prestigious True Imagination Award, The Classy Award, the top 100 charities making a difference in the world, the CAMH Difference Maker award, Health Canada`s e-mental Health, St. Mary`s College Wall of Fame, and Outstanding Trinidadians in Canada. He is an author, researcher and has been interviewed in documentaries and other media.
Budri believes it is the responsibility of health professionals to be visionary in the area of health and to serve humanity without attachments.
