Biography
Following graduation and stints in Jamaica and Barbados, I qualified with an FRCS (Edinburgh) and resettled in Dubai in 1978. I worked with the Dubai government over the next 3 decades as a urologist, setting up and running the Urology Department. Around the turn of the millennium, I entered medical management and was, successively- medical director of Dubai Hospital, Assistant Director General (medical affairs) and, subsequently, CEO Health Policy and Strategy for Dubai, finally retiring from government service 8 years ago. I can confidently say that clinical work was much more satisfying for me and, given the choice, I would not have any administrative responsibilities. I currently teach Clinical Anatomy at a regional medical school.
My wife Duha is a (USA) Board certified Endocrinologist, and we have 5 children. We are both keen making a trip to the West Indies and hopefully, we will make it in the not too distant future.
