Music player, music speaker, sparkly magic bag, rocket laminate, star laminate, egg shakers and magic sparkles
Lesson Plan
1. Warm-up: ‘Shake Your Sillies Out’ performed by The Wiggles See autumn lesson one. Make sure to use lots of energy!
* Running time approx. 2 mins.
2. Stretching and curling: Hedgehogs See autumn lesson one.
* Running time approx. 3 mins.
3. Travel to Danceland: ‘The Walking Song’ performed by Peter Combe See autumn lesson one.
* Running time approx. 4 mins.
4. Introduce the theme: ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ written by Anne Porter Without speaking, get the children into a circle by singing ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ as in autumn lesson one.
Ask the children if they can remember what they learnt about last week. Ask volunteers to name things that can be found in space (e.g. stars, planets, aliens, moon etc.). Act out their suggestions whilst seated.

5. Fine Motor Skills: ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ (traditional) See autumn lesson four.

6. Choreographed Dance: ‘The Rocket Dance’ performed by The Wiggles See autumn lesson four.
* Running time approx. 5 mins.
7. Action Song: ‘Zoom, Zoom, Zoom’ (traditional) See autumn lesson four.

8. Working with Props: ‘Spacewalk’ performed by Lemon Jelly
“I’ve found some lovely rocks here on the moon.” Hand each child a moon rock (egg shaker). “Let’s take them to the rocket ship so we can bring them home to earth.” Explain to the children that there is very little gravity on the moon, which means they can only move very, very slowly. Tell them they will know if they are moving very, very slowly because their shakers will make hardly any noise. Lead the children to a designated area in the room to be the rocket ship. Make sure you compliment children who are moving slowly. The children have had a long day in space and so when they
