▪ The Statistics Office (BPS) reported that the GDP growth started to decline due to the pandemic in the first quarter of 2020 and began to rise since the 3rd quarter of 2020 due to the Indonesian government's efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic and the positive trend starting in 2021.
▪ The number of poor people in Indonesia as of March 2021 reached 27.54 million people (10.14%) of the total population. The increase in the number of poor people in urban areas is higher than in rural areas. When compared to March 2020, the number of poor people in urban areas rose by 1.32% while those in rural areas rose by 0.60%.
