haemorrhaging costs in terms of IT support.
Due to the limitations of the system, managing contracts is difficult as is meeting customer demands for different billing types. To stay competitive, the only option the business has is to keep margins tight – and that makes things difficult for sales departments. Simon knows the system needs to change – and it needs to change fast!
How would bynxFLEET ease Simon’s headache?
Firstly, it provides a single platform for both financial and operational aspects of the vehicle leasing and finance management business. This means Simon can do away with the ‘Frankensteinian’ approach of bolted together applications he currently has. No more integration nightmares or interface horrors! This will ease the burden on in- house IT resources so they can focus on building systems to support the launch of profitable products and services.
Invoices can be presented differently to support individual customers’ business models. Different payment schedules and billing transactions can be managed and payment types supported. All leases can be handled, irrespective of category, and both they and contracts can be structured to customer requirements and not limited by the restrictions of the platform. Financial terms, specific to individual customers or customer segments, can be dealt with. Any changes, revisions or amendments to contracts will no longer be a worry as bynxFLEET enables them to be executed quickly and efficiently. The system also flags any impact on depreciation or residual values. The same is true for managing early terminations.
Customer service will improve and bynxFLEET will enable Simon to reduce costs, which in turn will ease the squeeze on margins and enable the company to be even more competitive, innovative and profitable.
Developing Your Stories
In this case, our starting point was to note the different markets my client sells in to: vehicle leasing and finance, vehicle rental, fleet management, fleet operation, accident management and vehicle re-marketing.
Within each of these are different types of customer: finance, operations, administration, technical and so on. Each customer type has different pain points.
Armed with this knowledge, we came up with several fictitious but realistic characters, such as Philippe and Simon, and set about constructing stories, based on real-world examples associated with their pain points. To make them super realistic, we talked to real customers to ask about the issues and challenges they face plus other elements, such as: the type of job they have, responsibilities, aims and objectives, daily tasks, and so on.
