Dear LVUSD Parents and Students,
This catalog includes information about our schools for families new to the area, in addition to policies and course information about high school.
High school is a very exciting time of life. I encourage you to seize the day and put your all into these next four years. Stretch and challenge yourself by participating in student leadership, the performing arts, athletics, and by giving it your all in the classroom. Try out for clubs that interest you. If you don’t see a club that interests you, then start a new club.
Agoura and Calabasas High Schools are two of the finest high schools in the nation with wonderfully rich, diverse offerings for each and every student. The purpose of this course catalog is to help you set your personal map. The most important thing for you to do is determine what your goals will be and to discuss these extensively with your parents.
This course catalog can help you answer some important questions such as what courses are required for graduation, which courses will address your personal areas of interest, and which courses will help you reach and achieve your goals. Teachers, school counselors and administrators are available to help you with these exciting choices. Please take full advantage of their help and support.
I would like to offer one last piece of advice. Schedule a meeting with your counselor, even if you do not feel that you have a pressing need, go in to the counseling office to say hello and introduce yourself. I would also encourage you to do the same with the administration. If you see an administrator on campus, feel free to walk up to them, shake their hand, and introduce yourself. Try to do this regularly as it is critical to building a relationship with your counselor, teachers and administrators.
Above all, work hard, play hard, and enjoy these four wonderful years. All the best,
