(Yeshua) means God Saves or God the Creator and Savoir! When people in the Scriptures called Jesus “Lord”, they were in many cases in reality calling Him the Great I AM-Ehyeh or God!
Holman Bible Handbook pages 558-559, General Editor David S. Dockey, under “Titles of Christ in the Gospels.” “LORD” This was a title of honor used of Jesus, the equivalent of “Master” or “Sir.” However, we can see lurking in it something of greater significance (Matt. 8:5-13; Mark 2:23-27). In Judaism [or Hebrew] “LORD” thus *meant God.”
When Saul, later called Paul, asked the one Lord or God who he was the answer that he received back is of great importance to finding out the identity of the one true God.
“And he said, Who art thou, Lord *[God]? And the Lord *[God] said, I am Jesus...”- Acts 9:5.
“The first man [Adam] is of the earth, earthy: the second man [Jesus] is the Lord *(God) from heaven.”-1 Corinthians 15:47. Compare this to John 8:23-24 and 1 Tim. 3:16.
“...Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord *[God] and Christ [Messiah].”-Acts 2:36. The Prophet Zechariah and the Apostle Paul also confirm that this was God in the flesh at Calvary and not part of a Trinity or second Person. See Zechariah 10:12, and Acts 20:28.
Steven also one of the members of the early Church, a good man full of the Holy Ghost and the first martyr, also called his God Jesus!
“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord *[God] Jesus, receive my spirit.”-Acts 7:59.
Jesus even comes out and claims to be the one eternal and only Lord Almighty God. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and ending, saith the Lord, *(God) which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”-Rev. 1:8. In Isaiah 9:6 Jesus is called “...The Mighty God, The everlasting Father,...” There is only one Father or God. (Mal. 2:10, Eph. 4:6, Heb. 12:9, John 12:44-45, Rom. 3:29-30, Psa. 86:10 and Deut. 32:12.)
Jesus said: “I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them. Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.”- John 10:30-33. (See also John 14:6-9, John 8:56-59 and John 12:44-45).
Jesus made it very clear that he was God in the flesh or in a human body. “And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”-John 8:23-24. Here Jesus claimed to be the same I AM or I AM HE God of Ex. 3:13-15 and Isa. 43:10-11. If we do not believe that Jesus is the one and only God, the Great I AM or I AM HE incarnated we will die in our sins!
