74 ♦ Bible Writers'Theology Chapter Four OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" Geremlah 23:6).
This niighty and saving namie, summing up the attributes or meanings given to all the previous names by which God the Father was revealed, was only made known in the fullness of time with the fulfillment of Isaiah 7:13- 14; which declares: "And he said. Hear ye now, O house of David; is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall con ceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
The above passage indicates that God was to manifest Himself in His ownflesh. Immanuelmeans"Godwithus"inflesh. ComparingwithIsaiah 8:8, which states, "And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel." and verse 10 which says: "Take counsel together and it shall come to naught, speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us." We see that He is not only "God with us, butalsotheomnipotentonewhoisabletodestroytheenemythatsur rounds us (11 Kings 18-19; John 3:13).
The fulfillment was explained in Matthew 1:20-23: "But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream,
saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: forthatwhichisconceivedinherisoftheHolyGhost. Andsheshallbring forth ason, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Behold, a virgin shall be with
child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
The above passages of scripture tell us that the one who came in the flesh is Immanuel, God the Father in flesh, or Christ. The angel did not say she will bear a child but he said, "Behold a virgin shall be with child..." (Matthew 1:23). This meant a miracle would have to happen for the child to
be born.
The name Jehovah-Tsidkenu of God the Father in the Old Testament, became the name Jesus in the New Testament, kept hidden hitherto, and by whichHeshallbecalledforever. JesusmeansJehovah-Saviour,Jehovahour

named Him. He named Himself. Therefore, it follows that Jesus is the revealed name of the Father when He was manifested in his own Son, the Christ. "I am come in my Father's name" (]ohn 5:43).
