a chapel for worship. He turned the center over to another organization. Revival came to Addis Ababa, reaching many honest-hearted people.
Not everything that happened in 1970 resulted in a blessing. Every new work has the problem of false proph ets creeping in unaware. One was a former Coptic monk and secretly a witch doctor. He came to Tekle at Awasa, reporting a fictitious vision. "While I prayed in a cave a few days ago, an angel appeared and declared that bap tism in the name of Jesus and the teaching of one God is true. He told me to be baptized by you and that I must go to my village and preach this gospel. He said thousands of state church members will obey the Word."
He sounded good. Tekle joyfully baptized him, and on the man's request, took him to meet Brother Wendell. The believers in Addis praised the Lord for another worker. Brother Wendell gave him money to go to Hamusi, Fitche District, believing that he went to evangelize his people. Instead, he called the village together and told them that the kindhearted missionary would build them an elementary school, a clinic, and a mill if they would donate the land. Everyone wanted the honor of giving the land and all agreed to welcome the United Pentecostal Church to their village.
The preacher sent word to Brother Wendell, "You must come. I have won the whole town to the Lord, and they have donated land for a church building." Several preachers, including Tekle, went with the Wendells,and a feast was prepared in their honor. After eating. Brother Wendell gave a strong message on the plan of salvation.
Tekle and two others spoke at length on baptism. The bewildered people looked at them coldly, without com-
