15 God Sends Revival
T h e church that God desired to be one had split with a finality that could not be mended. Tekle's fragment of it appeared as a frail flower about to droop and be lost in oblivion. The change did not come suddenly,with drum rolls or heralding trumpets. It even took Tekle a while to comprehend the scope of God's exciting plan. God called people from every walk of life, and they became soulwin ners. Farmers, merchants, university architecture and engineering students, common laborers, government employees, high school graduates and woodworkers all felt the touch of the Master and could never be the same again.
By the end of 1975, twenty-four men dedicated themselves to take the gospel wherever God led. No one planned psychologically touching services to persuade them to work for the Lord—God called them. With trust only in Jesus, the provider, and with determined respect and confidence in Tekle, their God-appointed leader, they went without promises of support or security. They did
