Unseen Hands
Instantly, with open eyes he saw a vision of shimmer ing radiance. Just as a stone cast into water makes shin ing circles that expand the sea into infinite waves, so the earth increased before him to endless yellow, brown and green immensity, and the heavens above him enlarged and multiplied into luminous bands of a rose-gold glow interspersed with rounded layers of soft light. He heard a voice say, "I am bigger than this vision. I am God, and
I am everywhere."
Tekle trembled as the vision faded. Turning to his new
friend, he entreated, "Teach me to pray."
Instead, the lad fell on his knees, calling on Jesus to heal by His power. Tekle followed his example, praying for the first time in the name of Jesus. Soon, he felt as though two hands entered his stomach. They seemed to pull him apart. He stopped praying and cried out in
anguish, "Someone is killing me—I am dying." Terror turned to despair. "Let Him kill me. After all, I am nothing more than a dead dog."
Slowly, the pain drained away. Relief came softly. It took a few moments for him to realize what had happened. He noticed the boil had disappeared, and he jumped to his feet. "I am healed!" he shouted. "The misery is gone. I am whole!"
With tears of joy the young boy and Tekle hugged each other and glorified the name of Jesus over and over.
