As Tekle left for services in another town, he asked, "Has God spoken to you, Erkenesh?"
"No," she denied.
He gave her a long, intense look, and opening his Bible to Daniel 12:3, he read; "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
He left without another word.
Erkenesh played a key role in the Holy Ghost revival that swept the Lutheran mission, testifying of the power of Jesus and praying with people whose hearts were hungry. One day as she witnessed, she surprised herself bysaying, totally unplanned, "I am going to marry Tekle
andhelphimevangelize." After she recovered from shock and accepted God's plan for her life, she felt a greater anointing than ever before.
Revival always triggers persecution, and Erkenesh became a target. The demon-possessed teacher who had stalked from the prayer meeting in anger became her archenemy, slandering her character and furiously oppos
ing her witness. Some of her relatives believed his report that she had lost her mind.
Erkenesh decided that she would go to Awasa and tell Tekle she would marry him, since she had already unexpectedlyannounced it in Dila. Her parents also should be told. At home, she related the whole story, beginning with receiving the Holy Ghost and the visions Jesus gave
her. She concluded, "God has called me to the ministry of evangelism and shown me that I am to marry Tekle,
