The American Chemical Society (ACS) Awards Program is central to one of the
founding principles of the ACS: “To encourage … the advancement of chemis-
try in all its branches, the promotion of research in chemical science and industry
… and the improvement of the qualifications and usefulness of chemists.” These
awards bring high-level recognition to the most important chemical research tak-
ing place within the U.S. and on a global scale. Since the establishment of the ACS
Awards Program in 1922, the support of sponsors has allowed ACS to pay tribute
to the scientists responsible for bringing outstanding chemistry to the world.
ACS is proud to salute our award sponsors for supporting the spirit of discovery
and for recognizing excellence in the chemical sciences.
