Are you interested in becoming a meeting or event planner but don’t know where to start? Clayton State University’s Event
& Meeting Planning Certificate Program will provide you with the confidence, skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to fine-tune your event planning skills. The course will guide you from event inception to closeout event reports. Learn how
to negotiate venue contracts, budgeting, menu planning and F&B guarantees, hotel management, manage vendor relations and more. Gain the hands-on experience necessary to become marketable in the event and meeting planning industry.

Risk Management
Project Risk Management directly relates to project success. When we better grasp the fundamentals of what happens when risks pose a threat, we better prepare how to mitigate that risk, leading to better overall success. This course examines the relationship of project constraints to assumptions of how best
to proceed, realizing that customer expectations may conflict and change. We will examine Risk Planning and Identifying
Risks utilizing the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) theory, along with appropriate Risk Responses. This course gives students many examples of standard Risk Responses that drive success, as well as strategies for how best to monitor and control identified project risks. Finally, this course also highlights the emotional skills required for a successful risk implementation strategy.

 SHRM Learning System Certification Prep
The SHRM Learning System is for the advanced HR professional who is interested in increasing their knowledge of Human Resource and or preparation to sit for the SHRM-CP or SHRM- SCP certification exam. This intense 14-week course reviews
the disciplines and competencies of HR, with a final exam given on the last evening. Eight Competencies, in three functional areas will be covered, along with the entire SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (SHRMBoCK) which is necessary to help HR professionals be successful in today’s workforce. Real world examples will be given on how HR is impacted and evolves in this ever-changing global business environment.
