Two of the world’s most modern container ter- minals, handling the world’s largest container ships, are located on Maasvlakte 2, where you will also find the Maasvlakte beach. Take a walk on the beach and you may spot ki- te-surfers, fishermen or even seals.

FutureLand will not only tell you everything about the development of the port, but on Maasvlakte 2 you can see the largest contai- ner ships and most modern container termi- nals with your own eyes! Hop on the Future- Land Express and take a special tour through the most modern port area in the world, or take to the water with the FutureLand Ferry; the best way to get closer to the biggest con- tainer ships.
05 INNOVATION IN THE HARBOUR.
Innovation is everywhere in the Port of Rot- terdam. Take a water taxi and get inspired at The Innovation Dock at RDM Rotterdam. Visit the Floating Farm. The name says it all; it’s a sustainable, circular dairy farm floating on the water. And don’t forget to drink a beer at the Stadshaven Brouwerij, run entirely on solar energy and where they brew their own beer with purified wastewater. The brewery waste is reused as food for the cows on the Floating Farm. Innovation continues to grow and renew.

INNER CITY HARBOUR.
The port began centuries ago in the old harbour, situated along the Binnenrot- teplein in the middle of the city, a historical part of which can still be seen. Great walks or cycling tours start from the Willemskade, the Maaskade, the Willemsbrug, the Noorde- reiland, the Wilhelminapier and the Erasmus Bridge.
