   01 DE MAAS.
After the Second World War, it was
the Maas that turned Rotterdam into a growing and bustling world port city, which is now the largest in Europe! The 950-kilometre river con- nects the city with nature. It also connects Rot- terdam North with Rotterdam South. The Maas invites you to move, to engage in sports and to meet people. A walk or a bike ride along the Maas and over the many bridges gives you a beautiful view of the modern architecture of the Rotterdam built during the reconstruction. Seals, kingfishers, sturgeon, you could well spot them all. Find small beaches where you can enjoy a warm summer day in the busy city of Rotterdam. Or you could take a water taxi. These sail through Rotterdam and its surroun- dings, taking you from location to location. The Maas has more to offer than you might think. It is the river at the heart of the world port city of Rotterdam.
04 BINNENROTTE.
The Binnenrotte market square is a
cosmopolitan area featuring hypermodern architecture like the Markthal, and the Cube Houses designed by Piet Blom. This charac- teristic area welcomes a flow of visitors on a daily basis, and in the last few years there has been an increase in travellers to this exiting Rotterdam hotspot. It’s almost impossible to- day to envision Rotterdam’s humble origins on this spot by the little Rotte River.
05 MUSEUMPARK.
The park, which covers 56 hectares,
lives up to its name; there are no fewer than seven museums in and around the park that you can visit. This is the ultimate place to en- joy culture: the Chabot Museum, Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Kunsthal and Rotterdam’s most talked about architecture project of the mo- ment, the Depot building of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, all within walking distance of each other. Enjoy a mix of old masters, mo- dern art, contemporary design, photography, and fashion..
06 VAN NELLE FACTORY.
As the most prominent listed indus-
trial building in the Netherlands, the former Van Nelle Factory was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2014. Designed by Brinkman & Van der Vlugt, the factory is a classic example of the Nieuwe Bouwen school of Dutch modernist architecture. Built between 1927 and 1930, this ingenious building was designed to provide all the facilities needed by the employees close at hand, and the buil- ding was kept fully above-ground to create air, light and space.
     02
EUROMAST AND HET PARK.
Het Park is located near the famous Euromast tower with a height of 185 metres and a 360-degree view of the whole of Rotter- dam. This is definitely an icon that you have to visit. But next to the tower there is also a beautiful park, where you can enjoy a long walk through a garden in the French style with monumental trees here and there. An interes- ting fact: Het Park was also the first park in Rotterdam.

KRUISKADE.
Kruiskade is a well-known shopping street in Rotterdam and with its many cafés, restaurants and shops there is plenty to do here. Rotterdam Central Station is also located here. The station is the international gateway to Rotterdam, and connects with tram, bus, metro and train.
