01 DE ROTTERDAM.
De Rotterdam, a 150-meter-tall buil-
ding designed by Rem Koolhaas, is one of the largest buildings in the Netherlands. The building contains housing, offices, conference rooms, a hotel, stores, leisure facilities and a car park. A multifunctional pearl of architectu- re in Rotterdam.
02 FENIX.
Fresh on the inside, raw on the outsi-
de. A former storage silo for the city port has been turned into a culinary paradise. This spot is perfect for enjoying the beautiful view over the Rijnhaven while enjoying a great meal.
03 MARKTHAL.
Markthal is the first indoor food fair
in The Netherlands. As well as marvelling at the amazing architecture and colourful interi- or, you will find a variety of delicious foods. During the construction, a number of medieval objects were found. These are displayed in the Markthal, lending this icon a historical touch.
06 KOP VAN ZUID.
Kop van Zuid is the place to be if you
adore architecture. Here you will find buil- dings from the world’s most famous architects: Álvaro Siza, Renzo Piano, Francine Houben, Norman Foster and our very own renowned Rem Koolhaas. Kop van Zuid has a mixture of old and new buildings with a rich history and culture.
07 HOTEL NEW YORK.
The Hotel New York opened its doors
in 1993. This building on the banks of the river Maas was formerly the head office of the Holland-America-Line. It dates from 1917 and is typical of its time. The building’s air of nostalgia brings to mind the drama of Dutch immigrants setting sail to seek a new life in North America.
08 WITTE HUIS.
In 1898, Rotterdam’s ‘White House’
was the tallest office building in the city and at 43 metres, Europe’s first skyscraper. It
has a beautiful façade of white glazed brick adorned with Art Nouveau mosaics and statues, and the observation platform atop the building’s flat roof and its barred-door lifts were thought extremely modern at the time.
09 LITTLE C.
Little C is an architectural project inspi-
red by New York City. This area has the dy- namic of a metropolitan city and is built with an eye for detail. You will recognise the red bricks, the steel railings and stairs and the lar- ge windows; all details which come together to create that iconic ‘loft’ vibe. Enjoy the archi- tecture with a local cup of coffee while taking a stroll through the green parks between the buildings.

KUBUSWONINGEN.
The Cube Houses, designed by archi- tect Piet Blom, are one of the best-known sights in Rotterdam. The architect wanted to create a village within the city and the design was inspired by thoughts of a forest, with the hou- ses representing the trees. The houses are also known as ‘Blaakse Bos’, meaning Blaakse Forest in Dutch.

DEPOT BOIJMANS VAN
BEUNINGEN.
Trying to find yourself reflected in the 1664 mirrors of the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is an activity in itself, but the iconic building was actually designed to store and exhibit art. The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is the first art storage facility in the world that offers ac- cess to a museum’s complete collection without the mediation of a curator. In the Depot, visitors can walk along 151,000 artworks, either by themselves or with a guide, and get behind-the-scenes glimpses of conservation, restoration and provenance research.
