in my hand, my legs felt all wobbly- I was high in a tree in the woods and there was no way I could climb down while hold- ing a small bird!
I calmed myself down and figured I would have to wait until someone passed by. Gimlet was as happy as could be, up high in a tree with me scratching his ears as I held onto the tree with my legs. After a while I heard voices below and saw two men walking with fishing gear. I called out and they looked all around before spotting me way up in that tree. I asked if they could run up the road to the firehouse and ask the firemen if they could come help me down with a ladder. I was beginning to feel shaky and wanted to get back on the ground.
These men were very friendly and they thought that they could help me. They didn’t seem to want to go get the fire- men. One of them climbed the tree but once he got there he understood that the problem was that I needed my hands to be free to climb down and I was holding a small bird. So he climbed down again. I had a small bandana around my neck and we decided that I would tie him up in the bandana like a little package and drop him down to them. Gimlet seemed a little confused as I wrapped the bandana around him but he
