The Bearded Dragons
We started with just one tiny Bearded dragon. My son Max had fallen in love with his older cousin’s dragon and
so we found him a young one for his seventh birthday. He named it Blitz, after his cousin’s who was also named Blitz. Our Blitz was only about 4” long when we got him. They are calm lizards and easy to hold and so he was often on some- one’s shirt.
One of the first weeks that we had him, I went in to feed him after the kids had gone off to school. He was not in his cage. I knew that Max had been playing with him earlier that morning so I rushed to the school to see if he had any ideas of where Blitz could be. At first Max was certain that he had put him away and then suddenly he remembered- he had been playing in his sister’s dollhouse and he had put Blitz in the bunk bed! I rushed back to the house and ran upstairs. In the bedroom of the dollhouse, in the top bunk, under a small blanket, Blitz slept!
He grew steadily to his full 18” length. Kids would come over and carry him around and he would patiently sit in place on them with just his beautiful amber eyes peering around. My sister asked me if we would like to have their Blitz since
