As holy Christians, we must live by faith as instructed by God's Word. Fear, doubt, and unbelief are all enemies of faith. These three things (which I call the “Trinity of hell”), will cause us to do the complete opposite of what God commands. Faith is complete trust in God. It is an action that causes obedience. He said it, so we obey Him and act on His Word.
The test of our faith is when things look and feel the exact opposite of what the Word says about the situations or challenges we face in life. Even when it makes us look crazy to the world, we obey God's Word. Why? Because we believe! We act out our faith.
Without faith we cannot be saved. It is faith that causes us to believe in a God we cannot see. The Bible says in Mark 16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
Lois Steward
Jesus is our greatest example of faith. His full trust in the Father caused Him to endure the suffering and shame of the cross so that we might be redeemed. Hebrews 12:2 says, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
When we walk by faith we keep our focus on Jesus. If not, we will be like Peter when Christ bid him to walk on the water. A lack of faith will make us look at our circumstances and begin to sink.
People of faith always
remember God's covenant. This
causes us to step out in faith
(even in the midst of the most
turbulent times) and acknowledge that God, the creator of heaven and earth, is the one we can and will trust completely.
Hebrews 11:6 lets us know that without faith it is impossible to please God. Therefore, our total walk with God must be one of faith. S

“So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!' he shouted. 31Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him.” Matthew 14:29b-31a (NLT)
