Reader,
PRELUDE
These poems are a result of testimonies, most of them sec- ond hand, that have come to me from different sources con- cerning the May 22nd tornado in Joplin, Missouri.
I have to say through all the years of writing poetry I have never experienced such a mixture of emotions. On the surface heartbreak and grief seemed to rule the day; But as these testi- monies kept coming to me, revelations of the inner beauty of the human spirit began to surface and prevail and I was reminded of what Jesus said, "In the world you will have tribulations. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
In the process of writing these poems I often wept: But it's been my experience when tears come it's a sure sign Jesus is ministering through these poems. They sure ministered to this writer; and reader, my prayer is that they will minister to you as well.
Remember, nothing is ever lost in Jesus.
With all the love that is in me,
Sam Weaver
