The night patrol
On Joplin roads What a mixture of Emotions it holds
It's a policeman's Duty to protect But during that ride Mercy and truth met
Going down each block In each and every turn I asked Jesus to Help me to discern
To pray the right words As I road through the dark Then continually
I prayed from my heart
The best I knew how With a steady flow
I prayed my heart out On that night patrol
Then darkness gave way To the morning light Time had flown so fast
As I prayed all night
I did my night patrol I rode to protect But this time in a way I didn't expect
