ashingtonLiteracyCenterrecently conductedthefirstina seriesofHealth&Welnessurveysofourstudentsandcustomersinresponse totheCOVID-19pandemicwiththeobjectiveofprovidingasistancetothosewho
receiveourservicesandthecommunitieswheretheyreside. Highlights:
Approximatelyhalfofalpeoplegottheirinformationfrom TVorradioorfrom socialmedia.
•Morethanhalfofalrespondentssaidtheyneedhelpwithalsupplies:Face masks,cleaningsupplies,andhandsanitizer.

Respondentsfrom theTEPprogram identifiedhavingtheirchildrenathomeas themostcommonbariertoworkingonline.TheMBSYPidentifiednotlikingonline learning.Sharingequipmentandnothavingtheequipmentneededwerethenext twomostcommonbariers.Warddoesnotseem toinfluencetheseresponses.

WLCisgratefultotheDCgovernment’ssupportwhichalowsustopurchaseand distributepersonalprotectionequipment,connectresidentstotestingsitesand healthcareprovidersandprovideotherasistanceasneeded.
