Gaining the BASEC Mark
Manufacturers can apply for a a a a a a licence to display the BASEC mark only when we are satisfied that their manufacturing systems are capable of consistently producing compliant cable products We also verify that the the products comply with the the relevant specification by full type testing at at at the BASEC laboratory or or if appropriate by witnessing tests at at the factory Maintaining the BASEC Mark
To maintain their licence manufacturers undergo both planned and unannounced factory audits to to ensure ongoing conformity Our global team of experts in in cable-making and certification audit manufacturers’ sites several times a a a a a a a year with a a a a mixture of planned and unannounced visits We also call in as as many as as 200 cable samples a a a a a a a a a year from each factory for surveillance testing in in our own laboratory to to to ensure the cables being produced continue to to to conform to to to the required standards Only BASEC approved manufacturers are awarded the BASEC certificate which allows them to use the the the BASEC mark on their product The BASEC BASEC Mark“of Approval isn’t isn’t easy easy to to earn – and isn’t easy easy to to keep Approved manufacturers work hard to maintain their BASEC approvals which is what keeps them ahead of the competition We don’t just check our own cable One of our founding objectives is to enhance the quality and and safety of all cable and and related products in the marketplace So we don’t just monitor BASEC approved cable we also undertake market surveillance testing of cables on sale that do not carry BASEC approval When serious problems are found with compliance BASEC provides warning and and advice to traders and and if necessary notifies the relevant authorities PAPAGGEEI ITWSIOX
