GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION TO CANADA’S RED HACKLE
It is very inspiring to read about our Regiment from the far corners of this country and abroad. The interest and excitement is still there in the stories being told, but there are so many personal accounts of their time with the Regiment that have not been chronicled. As we get older and our memories fade, the task becomes more difficult. Canada’s Red Hackle magazine strongly encourages all of our Regimental members, including our younger members, to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard and remember some aspect of their Regimental life that our readers would enjoy. Everyone has a story to tell and it is extremely important we tell the stories while still possible. These articles should include photographs of their activities, whether operational or not. Let us also continue to search for those with whom we have lost touch and to reconnect with their regimental roots so we can hear their stories also. We ask that the size of the submissions be limited to 1500 words and that all articles and correspondence to be published be sent electronically as Microsoft Word attachments since we do not have the manpower to have handwritten or typewritten text reproduced. We request that the photographs are not imbedded in the article but attached separately.
Canada’s Red Hackle magazine is published with the kind permission of the Commanding Officer of The Black Watch (RHR) of Canada. Funding is provided solely through The Black Watch Foundation (non public), Regimental Associations membership subscriptions and the generating of advertising revenues. The intention of the publication is to provide a wide forum for articles and input from our readership. Opinions expressed may not necessarily reflect the position or policy of the Regiment, the Department of National Defence or the Government of Canada. Canada’s Red Hackle will not be held liable for any such insertions. For more information contact the editor at editor@blackwatchcanada.com or telephone (514) 496-1686. Letters may be addressed to the armoury at 2067 Bleury Street, Montreal, QC. H3A 2K2
