JIM MANCILL AND STACY JONES
Winter is behind us and with the warmer days of spring, we can all look forward to the golf season to kick in as well. Greens aerification was finished last month and we are heading into prime golf weather and course conditions as we green up and firm up! The Masters is right around the corner and so is the start of our GTC golf events with the Par 3 Championship being held on Masters Wednesday. That is just the start of what we hope will be a fun filled season at the Club.
We have also included the 2021 Golf Schedule of Events. Start your planning now and we look forward to getting back to an uninterrupted season in 2021 and hope you will be able to participate in as many of these events as possible.
I would also like to take this time to say thank you to all the members for their support and encouragement to the members of our Golf Operations Team. Like most club golf staffs, we rely on the hard work of a group of energetic, enthusiastic and active high school and college students. Our current staff is a great example of that. We currently have three, Chandler Graham, Jackson Morrell and Joshua Stephenson who compete for the North Paulding HS Golf Team. This will also be a transition year for the staff as we have a number of high school seniors who will be off to college and will be working their last full summer with us. They include Tanner Grinstead (Middle Georgia), Kyle Bird, Chandler Graham and Carson Powell (Kennesaw State) and a former staff member, Sean Byrne (West Point). I know you may know some of them by name and all by their faces, but they are all such an important part in delivering the golf experience to you and your guests every day. I would like to say thank you to them and hope you will continue to give them the support and encouragement as they continue on their journey.
My thanks again and I am privileged to serve as your Director of Golf. - Jim Mancill
