From the Pastor’s Desk
Brrr…it is definitely cold outside! It has been awhile since we
have had a cold spell like this one. The only benefit I have experi-
enced is that it has made for an awesome ice fishing season! Not eve-
ryone likes cold weather as I do! This line of thought reminds me that
I should share my policy for church closing during our winter months.
First of all I will very rarely, if ever, cancel church! It would take a
January 2018 very large snow storm or an ice event on a Sunday morning for that to
happen. With that being said each person must assess their personal
Lexington United
Methodist Church situation about whether they feel safe to attend. I completely under-
stand not getting out if you do not feel comfortable with the weather.
SEEK The last thing I want to do is visit you in the hospital with a broken
SERVE bone from falling down! We will make every effort to make sure our
SHARE facility is cleaned off of snow and treatment on our sidewalks and en-
trances. Remember the folks who do this are volunteers!
ww.reachingforyou.org Each new year it is kind of trendy to make resolutions. I think
we look back and see that some of our goals and desires were not met
Office 660-259-2483
FAX 660-259-2685 or completed from the prior year. To keep making the same goals and
then fall short defeats us and causes a sense of failure to permeate our
Rev. Terry Cook, Pastor conscious. Therefore I am not going to do that to myself and I hope
660-259-4804 you do not either! So here are my goals for this next year: I want to

presence in everything I do. I want to grow deeper in love with God
Patty Sollars,
Administrative Asst. and with everyone I interact with. I do not want to quantify my pro-
gress by numbers or with a chart but to measure my progress by how
Mary Routh,
often I smile and even laugh out loud! I want to experience loving
Coordinator others as Christ loves them, and not by any human standard. I believe
Janet Thompson, that if I can accomplish this that I will have achieved any goal that I

ess! That is to be celebrated! I pray that you might set similar goals

for yourself this year!
