Welcome to the Brecon Beacons and welcome
to our new Guide for 2024.
Recently rechristened with its Welsh name - Bannau
Brycheiniog (pronounced Ban-eye Brick-eye-knee-og)
- you can expect the same beautiful landscapes and warm
welcome throughout National Park and in the towns and
villages around it. This Guide is designed to help you
enjoy all the great things on offer.
The Guide is organised with information about what you
can do, where you can stay and the great places to eat,
drink and shop as well as a list of the best places to see
the world famous dark skies. There are some top tips on
pronouncing place names and using a bit of Welsh and a
list of all the information centres in the area.
If you find the Guide useful, it would be great if you could
tell people you have found their business in these pages
- it’s good for them to know that the Guide is working for
you and for them.
The Guide will introduce you to the towns and villages in
and around the Beacons and give you some suggestions
on what you could do when you visit them. You will find
these in the sections labelled a few ways you could
spend your day.
