We would like to welcome today’s
visitors Bedwas to Emlyn Park.
Good evening all, tonight we welcome Bedwas for our final home game of the
season, Bedwas are looking for promotion to the Premier league and have taken
the spoils from our last two fixtures, Talywain however have been in the fight on
both occasions and hopefully we can come out on top tonight.
As we play our last home fixture for this season, I just want to say what a brilliant season it
has been for us, our goal was to stay in the championship and we are sitting comfortably
mid table. This is testament to all the hard graft our team has put in this year. I would like
to thank all the players, coaches and backroom team for their dedication, hard work and
commitment to the club. I would also like to thank our medical team, groundsman and
volunteers.
A massive thanks to Tamar and our staff for their dedication and hard work looking after
us, all of our loyal supporters for showing up week in week out and all of our sponsors for
their generous donations. Our M&J section is thriving and again this is testament to those
great and fabulous people involved.
My final word is to Lewis Ball who plays his last home game for the club tonight, Lewis is
being forced into early retirement through injury and will lead the side out at home for the
last time. He has played or Talywain since U9’s and has been hugely instrumental in the
successes that Talywain has enjoyed over recent years. Not only is Lewis a great rugby
player, he is also one of the nicest and most honest men that you'll ever meet.
Thank you Lew, you have been a fantastic servant to Talywain.
Yours in sport,
Jeff Clutterbuck
