Programme Application Guidance Document
Overview
The Swansea Bay City Deal Portfolio includes nine key Programmes of work, each of
which is based around a core development theme designed to stimulate and sustain
investment and economic activity in the region. Eight of the Programmes are largely
capital driven and are detailed in the diagram above.
The ninth and final Programme is the Skills and Talent Programme. This Programme has
been designed to serve and support the other eight Programmes within the Portfolio and
the wider Swansea Bay economy. The Programme aims to identify the skills that will be
needed within the Region in the future and, where shortfalls are identified, design and
provide the training pathways needed to address them. The Programme will not deliver
more of what is currently on offer, nor duplicate provision. Instead, it will create a legacy
of new skills provision in the region through pilot programmes delivered by schools,
colleges, universities and training providers.
