   CROESO E WELCOM
TODAY’S VISITORS DUNVANT RFC
Hoffwn estyn croeso cynnes i bawb i Barc de Pugh a 'nôl yn y clybhows ar ôl y gêm. Diolch o galon i'n noddwyr a'r Is-Lywyddion am eu cefnogaeth hael a pharhaol eto eleni. Diolch hefyd i'r chwaraewyr, y teuluoedd, y dorf ffyddlon, yr hyfforddwwyr a'r Pwyllgor am eu gwaith caled drwy gydol y flwyddyn.
We wish to extend a warm welcome to the visiting Committee, players, members, and supporters from Dunvant RFC to Parc De Pugh, and trust that all will have enjoyed their journey up from the western edge of Swansea. We are greeting two senior sides to compete against our First XV and Athletic XV, and look forward to the opportunity of hosting this ‘joint’ fixture in what is, undoubtedly, a good model for all clubs in terms of the singular movement of extended squads, and also to the off-field benefits of host clubs.
In addition, we are also delighted to see Dunvant U11s, join their senior colleagues, to take on the equivalent Brecon Team as a curtain raiser to the Senior games. We ask that all take the opportunity to support these future stars and, most importantly, we trust that these young players enjoy the experience of the whole day. The close affinity of our Mini and Junior sections and players, to our senior squad, remains a key bedrock of Our Club.
Today’s opposition are a club that has enjoyed success, both in the initial years in the Swansea and West Wales districts, but also through being a thriving community club that, once the National League system was set in place, were very soon enjoying success at the highest level. This is reflected in a proud record that saw them down the colours of a number of the former Merit Table ‘first class’ clubs and also earn the right to take on international touring sides such as Japan and Romania. The game against the Japanese lives in rugby folklore as being an occasion where, allegedly, a Buddhist monk was sent off the pitch for an act of foul play!! We wish all teams the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the best of company and three great games of quality rugby.
The aforementioned visit to Broadacre in December was on a particularly cold day, so we hope that warmer weather greets all as we move towards the latter stages of the season. We would certainly extend the warmest of welcomes to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our stewardess, and her great team, will ensure you are all well catered for.
Best wishes,
Rich Morris Chairman
