O'R CYFALAF
FROM THE CAPTAIN
Firstly, I’d like to welcome you all to Emlyn Park, the home of Talywain RFC, for our inaugural year
in the Championship. It is a great honour to be asked to captain the side again for the 24/25 season,
this club has a big place in my heart and I’m looking forward to the challenge that the new season
in a new division presents.
Last season was a special year for the club and a
very proud season for myself, winning promotion
into the championship is the greatest success so far
in Talywain’s rich 126 year history. A lot of hard work
and effort was put into achieving our goals over the
last few years by the players, coaches, back room
staff and all the volunteers at the club.
Along the way we played a lot of entertaining and
eye catching rugby, spreading the ball wide and
playing an expansive game at every opportunity.
I’m sure this year will be the same and spectators
won’t be disappointed!
We have recruited well over the summer and
retained the majority of the players from last season
which has resulted in us having a very strong squad
to challenge every team in the league, I am excited
to see what we can achieve!
This year will be our biggest challenge yet, but I
know the boys will relish every opportunity playing
against tougher opposition week in week out. Along
the way we will also have a lot of fun and enjoy every
moment, especially the many sing songs on the long
away bus journeys. Emlyn Park has been a fortress
for us over the last five years and we are aiming to
keep it that way this season.
Pre-season has gone really well, all the boys are
looking very sharp. We are in great shape, well
prepared and ready to see what the championship
brings to us.
