NPT has a good strong productive
manufacturing workforce in place, but upskilling
and attracting new ideas into the sector for the
ambitious plans in the county is vital.
Furthermore, with recent news relating to the
proposed changes for TATA steel blast furnaces,
upskilling, reskilling and creating new pathways
for potentially displaced workers due to this
operational change will be critical to the county
Ensuring the county can keep supply chain,
manufacture and innovation local and reduce the
emissions of the county's biggest emitting sector,
will all require an investment in skills within the
aforementioned areas.

✓ Target other areas of Wales where manufacturing
is in decline, attract talent to the county.
✓ Create new pathways for potentially displaced steel
workers
✓ ABP aim to create a world scale manufacturing hub
at Port Talbot
