Taste test
There’s more than a stretch of water separating British and French meats, particularly within the beef market. As part of our service at Shore Solutions, we offer you the chance to take part in a ‘taste test’, sampling cuts from each side of Channel and making your own mind up about which country offers the best quality for your guests, owners and crew.
Whether you are tender inclined or prefer the leaner flavours of French beef, we offer a range of meats and only source the best there is on the market.
British beef from native breeds, raised and matured on lush green pastures is a true delight to eat. British breeds are smaller
than their Gallic contemporaries, but, having been bred almost purely for taste over the centuries, their authentic cuts are widely revered as among the best in the world – some have even been given protected EU status!
French cattle has been traditionally reared for fieldwork and power, meaning that the meat is far leaner than British breeds’ and the animals take longer to reach maturity.
However, a number of French native breeds such as the Charolais and Limousin, which have been historically introduced to British meadows with great success, have been accredited with revolutionising the Anglo market.
