Diolch hefyd i'r chwaraewyr, y teuluoedd, y dorf ffyddlon, yr hyfforddwwyr a'r Pwyllgor am eu gwaith caled drwy gydol y flwyddyn.
We wish to extend a warm welcome to the players, members, supporters and visiting supporters to Parc De Pugh today. I wish both sides the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the best of company and a great game of competitive rugby. I would like to extend a welcome to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our stewardess, will ensure you are all well catered for.
Today we welcome our good friends Bedlinog RFC to Parc De Pugh for what is our first home league game since beating Penallta on 8th October.
Last weekend we travelled away again for a league match against lowly placed Senghenydd. I am pleased to report that we secured an away a bonus point victory after scoring eight tries and sixty points while restricting the home side to a single try and penalty.
Given the limited rugby played and two disappointing results in January it was great to watch such an emphatic victory. The stop start nature of the season ever since the start of the Autumn Internationals in November has not helped and has contributed to us looking a bit rusty, rusty and lacking in accuracy, particularly in the early stages of the matches we have played. Despite dominating both scrum and line outs we found it hard to pull away on the scoreboard during the opening 20 minutes only managing to lead by just ten points to three. Then in the second half we saw an improvement as things started to become more fluent and Brecon added five further tries while conceding just one.
Today I would like to thank our Match Sponsors Kevin Paige Building Contractors and Guests. I hope you all have a good afternoon and evening.
I would also like to welcome Faye Jones MP and James Evans MS who are joining us for the game this afternoon.
Best wishes,
Paul Amphlett
Cadeirydd/Chairman.
