IAMI
The International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI) forms the largest network of Maritime
Colleges, Universities and Training Providers worldwide. Established over 100 years ago as a UK
centric operation, during the last few decades IAMI has been representing over 90 Maritime
Education establishments based worldwide.
The main role of IAMI is to act as the conduit for its members, with the various maritime
regulators, employers and education bodies, through its 4 main IAMI Sub Groups, with the aim
to consult on maritime training and development, responding to the needs of the marine
industry at large, shipping companies, as well as individual mariners.
IAMI Members have a wealth of experience in marine education, with committed and well
qualified staff, delivering training through an excellent range of modern facilities for simulation
and practical training, as well as interactive online learning platforms. IAMI Members pride
themselves on maintaining the highest standards of teaching and of integrity, particularly in
relation to assessment.
GUEST
The Guidelines for Excellence in Superyacht Training (GUEST) Program is governed by the
International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI) who formally Accredits Training Providers
who meet the IAMI GUEST Qualifications Standards.
The GUEST Program includes a broad range of bespoke Training Programs made up of a number
of courses, which identify learning outcomes and the Assessment criteria level.
The GUEST qualifications are based on the competency standards of applied knowledge,
skills and attributes that meet the requirements of relevant positions of Yacht Professionals.
Competency standards are developed in consultation with industry, in order to ensure they reflect
the needs of these roles.
IAMI GUEST Programs are continually monitored through ongoing IAMI led audits, reviews and
student feedback, with the learning outcomes reviewed by our teams of respected professional
experts and qualified Trainers
