About the course
The Yacht Owner’s Representative Program (YORP) is the
fully-accredited qualification designed to set a new industry
standard. The program has been developed to provide a deep
understanding and practical knowledge on the leadership,
operational and technical skills required for this role. It is
directed at all existing and aspiring owner’s representatives,
project managers, captains, officers and contractors working
in any shipyard on behalf of a yacht owner.
Backed by SYBAss and accredited by IAMI & GUEST, the learning
outcomes of the YORP were conceived by a team of experienced
owner’s representatives and shipyard project managers. Developed
as a two-part program, the YORP is delivered exclusively by valued
and certified IAMI & GUEST training providers, The Crew Academy.
The core operational and technical aspects of the program are
covered in a comprehensive three-part online program by The
Crew Academy, in collaboration with more than 30 specialist
contractors, shipyard personnel and other industry experts.
This section of the course covers all the practical tools ORs need to
have in order to deliver a new build or refit: from project management
and compliance; to the finer details of yacht design and build; as
well as financial, legal and administrative knowledge.
