Following the 2024 cup final and league cup final it
was great to see the Junior Drovers being given the
opportunity to share these rare and wonderful
occasions celebrating on and off the field with
players and management. I remain very proud of
the club and the amazing opportunities that we can
provide the Juniors in a fantastic setting.
We currently have teams fromU7s to U15s with
training on aTuesday evening from 6pm. Games are
generally held on Sundays during the rugby season
and alternate between home and away matches.
If you would like to help the Juniors whether by
coaching, refereeing, fundraising, or assisting in any
other capacity please get in touch via our Facebook
or Instagram page or by attending training on a
Tuesday night during the season. New and
returning players are always welcomed.
Finally, I would like to wish all the Teams within
the club a successful season and most importantly,
I hope they enjoy the experience. Yn olaf, hoffwn
ddymuno pob llwyddiant i’n holl dimau eleni.
Mwynhewch y profiad.
Ymalen y Porthmyn!

Chairman, Llandovery Junior Drovers.
The 2023/24 was an incredibly successful season for Llandovery RFC; for the playing and
management group, the board of directors, our loyal supporters and the Junior Drovers. When
the Junior Drovers were formed 30 years ago, who would have thought that a small town in North
East Carmarthenshire would top the Indigo Premiership, win the play-offs and domestic cup all in
one season. Llongyfarchiadau Mawr!

It really does show how far the club has progressed,
particularly over the last decade. This wouldn’t
have been possible without the hard work of so
many - on and off the field who have always
looked to improve/develop facilities to attract junior
and senior players. The success and brand of
Drovers rugby has inspired our children to feel
part of club and over the last few years in particular
an increasing number have been watching the
senior team play at both home and away matches.
The Junior Drovers feel very much part of the club
and we are grateful for being able to share the
match day experience with mascot, flag bearers
and ball helpers duties. Each age group is provided
with this opportunity and, along with old favourite
Wyn, more of the current players such as Lee
Rees, Ioan Hughes, Jack Jones and Macs Page
are chosen as the Junior’s favourite player above
bigger regional and national names.
We are immensely grateful for the 1st XV’s interest
in the Junior Division, from giving their time to
assist with rugby skills sessions during our Tuesday
evening training sessions and attending our end
of year presentation to their endless patience in
providing pre and post-match photo opportunities
after the Saturday games at Church Bank.
