We wish to extend a warm welcome to the visiting Committee, players, members, and supporters from Trebanos RFC to Parc De Pugh.
Trebanos have won 4 of their first 11 games in the league this season and currently sit in ninth position in the current standings. Our game at Trebanos earlier in the season ended up in a high scoring affair, with the home side very much on top for the majority of the game. It was only in the latter stages that we managed to get ahead and a heroic defensive effort from us on our own line kept the home side out in injury time to secure a hard fought away victory.
Our final home fixture before Christmas saw us lose our unbeaten league record to a very good Llangennech side who deservedly celebrated their 26 points to 15 bonus point win. For us it was a feeling of disappointment. Disappointed not so much that we lost to a good team, but disappointed that for the first twenty-five minutes of the match we played poorly. Despite the slow, poor start to the game to the credit of the side we turned things around in the second half and got within one score of winning the game before an intercept try just before full time killed off any hope of sneaking the victory.
The fixture away at Trebanos at the start of the season provided a thoroughly entertaining and let’s hope both teams can kick off the New Year with another entertaining game today. I wish both sides the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the best of company and a great game of competitive rugby.
I would like to extend a welcome to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our stewardess, will ensure you are all well catered for.
Best wishes,
Andy Lewis Cadeirydd/Chairman.
