CROESO WELCOME
TODAY’S VISITORS MONMOUTH RFC
Hoffwn estyn croeso cynnes i bawb i Barc de Pugh a 'nôl yn y clybhows ar ôl y gêm. Diolch o galon i'n noddwyr a'r Is-Lywyddion am eu cefnogaeth hael a pharhaol eto eleni. Diolch hefyd i'r chwaraewyr, y teuluoedd, y dorf ffyddlon, yr hyfforddwwyr a'r Pwyllgor am eu gwaith caled drwy gydol y flwyddyn.
We wish to extend a warm welcome to the players, members, supporters and visiting supporters to Parc De Pugh today. I wish both sides the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the best of company and a great game of competitive rugby. I would like to extend a welcome to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our stewardess, will ensure you are all well catered for.
Our last home game saw us entertain Nelson RFC. The anxiety during the week running up to the weekend of the possibility of losing another game to a waterlogged pitch proved to be unfounded as the weather improved throughout the day and by the time of the kick off the pitch was in remarkably good condition.
The pressure was on us not just win, but also to make a statement in order to show that we were back on track and to build confidence for the congested end of the season run in. Despite the added pressure we responded in the best way possible.
I am pleased to say that we produced one of our most complete and clinical performances of the season. The final score of 76 points to 5 said it all but behind the result there was an impressive set of stats. We scored twelve tries, eight of which were converted. Nine players scored a try, four forwards and five backs, with centre Tom Richards claiming a hat trick. Today we welcome Monmouth RFC to Parc De Pugh for what I hope will be another competitive and entertaining game. I would like to welcome and thank our sponsors who are joining us today, Chris Hopkins and his wife from Hopkins Machinery, Ian and Helen Matthews and their guests.
I hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon and look forward to seeing you in the Clubhouse after the game.
Best wishes,
Paul Amphlett Cadeirydd/Chairman.
